How It Works
Spravato® is self-administered as a nasal spray under medical supervision. Patients remain in the office for two hours of observation after each dose. It works differently from traditional antidepressants, targeting glutamate, a key neurotransmitter involved in mood regulation.
What to Expect
- Initial Induction Phase:
2 treatments per week for the first 4 weeks
- Maintenance Phase: 1 treatment weekly or biweekly (as needed)
- Ongoing Monitoring: Mental health support and medication management throughout the process
Cost and Insurance
Spravato® treatment is eligible for insurance submission. If not covered, the out-of-pocket cost is $250 per visit.
